Make the jump to 2.0

When releasing the new TMT for iPhone 2.0 app I made a couple of changes under the hood of our API. One of the things we did was to remove and clean up a couple of patches that were in there to accommodate a couple of bugs in the first TMT for iPhone app v1.0.

These bugs mostly arise around issues to do with & and = signs in messages. If you’re still using the old app you’ll have discovered messages containing these characters no longer save, anyone who gets a lot of messages with smilies in such as =) will notice this a lot.

To avoid confusion about what’s going on here we’ll be deprecating the API key for the v.1 app in the next few days. The app will try to reauthorise but you’ll be getting instead a nice message asking you to upgrade to 2.0.

So for original iPhone 2G with iPhone Software 1.* hold outs if there weren’t enough reasons already to get yourself to 2.0 this is just one more, don’t be scared now it’s real easy.

2.0 TMT app works well! I’m experiencing one major problem. The app used to show the whole text conversation - both received texts and my sent texts. However the app no longer shows my sent texts anymore. Is this a bug you’re going to address? Thanks!

It should indeed show both, and this is not something I can reproduce here. Does it only happen for a certain contact or always?

The app was originally designed to show only those messages received. The initial selection of contacts shown is based on those who you have messages from. If you had deleted all the received messages for a contact and only left with messages you have sent to them then the contact would no longer show in the list. Is that what your getting or is this something else?

it appears to be happening with one specific contact who I text with the most out of anyone. I don’t delete any of these texts (sent or received) so theoretically they should all be showing up in TMT app. However, my sent messages disappear in the TMT app, but others sometimes do appear. It seems random.

Created a support topic for this so we can track it over there.
