TMT for iPhone 0.6-r2 update

Did you updgrade to 1.1.3 Firmware and the Treasuremytext.app was broken? It’s just been fixed with version 0.6-r2 compatible with 1.1.3 Firmware iPhones - thanks Mike!

After you’ve finished jiggling your icons about head over to installer.app, head for sources and hit refresh. TMT for iPhone should appear in updates.

U.S. & Canadian Network Volunteers Wanted

Uncle SamWe’re currently installing our U.S. service but not being U.S. citizens it makes it a little difficult for us to check compatibility with all the networks. We need a couple of people to test out the four major networks in the U.S. and Canada. The test only requires you to create a Treasuremytext account and to send an SMS to a standard U.S. mobile number so we can verify it is working on that network. We need people on these following networks :

  • Verizon
  • T-Mobile
  • ATT - Thanks Alex
  • Bell Mobility
  • Sprint
  • Rogers
  • Fido
  • Telus
  • Virgin CA

Can you help? If you want to help us beta test this then send us an email to  beta(at)treasuremytext(dot)com (replacing commars and ‘at’s where appropriate - you know what we mean)!

We’ll then send you a special invite to sign up with other relevant instructions.

iPhone app update

iPhone for TreasuremytextIf you’re using the iPhone app check your Installer.app for a new Treasuremytext for iPhone update. It fixes the issue with the authentication notice appearing after saving messages and some minor changes which should make the whole experience a little smoother.

Are their any features your want to see or finding any bugs then let us know at Getsatisfaction

Treasuremytext for iPhone available

tmt-iphone.jpg

Treasuremytext for iPhone lets you archive selected messages from your iPhone to Treasuremytext, an SMS archive service (currently in beta). It works over your data connection so archiving messages is free. The application also allows you to delete individual messages from the iPhone (a feature missing from the built in SMS application). Many thanks to Mike Lewis on iPhone dev, Flickr for API inspiration and the mobilepushr team for sharing their code.

–UPDATE : We’ve just tried it on an iPhone with the latest 1.1.3 firmware soft upgrade and like many other apps ours is broken on it so hold off on that upgrade if you want to use this.

Features:

  • Delete Individual SMS
  • Archive SMS messages to your Treasuremytext account
  • Archives SMS messages and deletes from iPhone in one action
  • No message charges (works over EDGE and Wifi)

Added benefits for use with Treasuremytext:

  • Messages appear in TMT with the original date sent
  • Contact information is automatically stored with the message
  • A new contact is created if the from address is not yet in your Treasuremytext contacts

To use Treasuremytext for iPhone you need two things:

  • A Jailbroken iPhone running Firmware less than 1.1.3 with ‘Installer App’

To get a Treasuremytext Account:

New stuff in New York

inlikewithyou.jpg

The Treasuremytext team is in New York this week and we thought we’d share a few pictures of our travels on Flickr here. Last night we went to the New York Tech Meetup - and heard about several New York based startups. Some of it was pretty cool. I liked the ‘I’m in like with you‘ site who are pioneering social entertainment. The annotating video is a lot of fun - although the annotations can be a little predictable. Still - I’m in ‘like with’ the service.

We also heard from NY based mobile startup http://www.gomobo.com/ who have a mobile approach to jumping the queues at your favorite restaurant.

We also met up with a couple of potential new partners with whom we’ll be exploring ideas for taking Treasuremytext to new markets. Watch this space!

Treasuremytext invites via mashable

mashable_invites_logo1.png

You can now get an invite to the new Treasuremytext beta via Mashable Invites.

“Mashable Invites is a place to swap invites for “Web 2.0″ sites that are currently in private beta mode. Just add your name to an invites list and other Mashable Invites members will drop by and invite you.”

As mashable fans we’re pretty happy about that - and it means we get invites to other cool apps too!

Preview pics… Treasuremytext for iPhone

iphone_tmt_flickr.jpg

A few preview pics of the forthcoming “Treasuremytext for iPhone” application are available on  my Flickr account. We’ll launch it this week hopefully.

Simply it lets you archive your favorite SMS from your iPhone to Treasuremytext (via EDGE / Wifi) so it’s totally free.  Whilst we’re waiting for the iPhone SDK to come out we thought we’d get going with our own version for jail broken iPhones. More on this very soon.

Getting Satisfaction: and revolutionising customer support

getsatisfaction.jpg

We’re using a new super cool web service called ‘Get Satisfaction‘ to help power our customer support for Treasuremytext.

We pride ourselves on offering pretty good support to our users, answering queries quickly and making sure we go just that little extra to help people treasure and archive their SMS messages. Many of our supports queries relate to the same problems; and we try to offer guidance through FAQs etc, and of course fix anything that’s broken.

The old way of doing Customer Support is to deal with individual queries; well, individually, and all in private - so the rest of the community doesn’t benefit, just the person asking the question.

Now, for better satisfaction, we’re using ‘Get Satisfaction‘ which is customer support with a difference. If you have a query on how something works of if something’s broken, or if you’d like to suggest a feature, you post it on Get Satisfaction. Then company representatives can respond, but so too can the rest of the community - this really is “people powered customer service”!

From a business perspective it makes perfect sense for us to show our support queries publicly, to show our responses and our efforts to fix any problems; and it helps to get other people involved. Also, Get Satisfaction is just a really lovely site to use; you can track conversations about things of interest to you, and of course you get that nice feeling when you’re able to help someone else out with something.

So from now on we’ll direct all Treasuremytext support through Get Satisfaction. It’s just really good!
